Participatory Research International networking memo, February 1, 1986

Abstract

This networking memo, issued by Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) in February 1986, reports on the participatory research working group at the 1985 ICAE World Assembly of Adult Education in Buenos Aires. The group’s 45 participants, from more than 30 countries, discussed the aims and methods of participatory research and agreed that its principles stay common across very different settings. They saw the following years as a period of consolidation, with plans for documenting experience, publishing, building resource centres and exchanging ideas between regions. The memo then gives updates from the networks in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and North America, and closes with new publications and materials on participatory research.
