Abstract

Women's Enterprise Management Training Outreach Program (WEMTOP) aims at building capacity and empowering illiterate, landless and near landless women in the rural areas, and assetless woman in the informal sector in urban / semi-urban areas to generate income well above subsistence level by organizing micro enterprise individually or in groups. The major thrust of the program is to provide Enterprise Management Training; escort services, and linkages needed for establishing, managing and sustaining their enterprises. Through Management Training at the Grassroot (GMT) level, the program envisages developing the capability of poor rural women in terms of their own entrepreneurial and managerial competencies of perceiving economic opportunities; organizing, and managing successfully their own enterprises. This further aims at empowering women to improve their decision making capacities in all spheres-enterprise, family and even at community level to effect control over their own income and resources.

Description

WEMTOP empowers marginalized rural and urban women by building their micro-enterprise management capacities. It provides hands-on training, support services, and tools like the Pictorial Response Booklet (PRB) and PW Information Sheet (PWIS) tailored for illiterate participants. The program uses visual tools and structured methods to assess women’s enterprise, empowerment, and social impact. A systematic coding and response recording process ensures effective data collection and monitoring of progress.
