Abstract

International conferences and workshops on the evaluation of social development have been a regular feature of the INTRAC calendar for nearly fifteen years. These events are now well established as key forums in which practitioners and policy makers from a variety of agencies are able to come together to debate current trends in the sector. Proceedings at each of the conferences have been brought together into a series of publications.¹

Description

INTRAC's Sixth International Evaluation Conference (April 2006) builds on global workshops held across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. These workshops explored tensions between top-down measurement systems and participatory approaches to monitoring and evaluation (M&E). The initiative aims to center field-level insights, stimulate global dialogue, and refine M&E practices. The conference will feature case studies, debates, and speakers from the regional events.
