| dc.description.abstract | The participants exchanged experiences on rural organizing in their respective areas. Based on the initial sharing of several fieldworkers, discussions followed. The objectives of rural organizing were identified, concepts clarified, methods systematized, problems defined, and tentative solutions and plans of action proposed. An input session was held with the presentation by a resource person of a research paper entitled "The Impoverishment of the Filipino Peasantry." The underlying theme that evolved during the Workshop was the essence of Christianity as incarnated in the concrete task of liberating the oppressed, particularly the peasantry, from oppressive social, economic, political and cultural structures, thus promoting total human development. In the light of the discussions, the new input and insight gained during the Workshop, long range and short term programs of action were made. | |
