| dc.description | RDA began its work with a community health programme in Nainital’s Ramgarh block, later expanding into environmental conservation, sanitation, and women’s empowerment. Supported by multiple national and international agencies, it implemented projects like SWAJAL and JFM. Despite achievements, the organization faced issues in project integration, communication, and gender inclusivity. Its work reflects a mix of technical and social development efforts in rural Uttarakhand. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The Rural Development Agency (RDA) is a non governmental organisation started in 1986 by a group of individuals concerned about the rapidly deteriorating environmental condition of the Central Himalayas and of its people. The functional head quarter was established in Nainital district. RDA's aim was to improve the eco-system in the Central Himalayan region through a focus on environment and health, thereby improving the quality of life and make the people of the area self reliant. RDA wanted to work with the poor and deprived section of the society particularly with women and children. | |
