Abstract
The Third National Conference on Electoral and Political Reforms was organized at Patna in February 2006. At the end of the conference the delegates decided to make some efforts at reforming the political parties. The experiences of Citizen Election Watches in different states over the last 4 years and the feedback received from various organizations and thinkers have also reiterated this decision.
Description
On 23 August 2006, ADR held a seminar at IIC to launch its “Political Party Watch” report, outlining plans to audit party finances, internal democracy, manifestos, MPLAD spending, and candidate disclosures via RTI. Key actions: collect audited accounts, scrutinize affidavits, form reform subcommittees, and publish findings widely.
