dc.descriptionRural development programmes must actively engage young people, diversify project types, and adapt roles as field workers age. Monitoring should prevent rigid structures post-funding and support proper functional roles, especially of honorary contributors. Surveys play a vital role in grounding action in real needs, training local people, and guiding development efforts. Effective surveys must include feedback systems and small-scale action components for practical learning.
dc.description.abstractThis paper gives, in point form. the ways of monitoring rural development programmes. It does so under three heads Overall Programme Monitoring, Monitoring the Implementation of Projects, and Importance of Good Surveys. The author suggests a proper mix of projects for succeeding in rural development and suggests clear-cut functional allocation of project responsibilities to various persons so as to make monitoring of implementation of a project easier and better. In the end, the paper stresses on importance of survey as a method to develop methods of monitoring and feedback.
