It is a pleasure for me to be here at this conference, to be among so many adult educators, to see again people I met recently at Manila and to renew acquaintance with other people I have known for a long time. It is my intention to talk today about environmental adult education, including education for sustainable development and appropriate technology-the trio of interests covered in this conference sub-theme. My discussion will centre on Australian experience in the belief that while the environment is a transnational issue we can all benefit from each other's local experiences in working with it.Item Unity in Diversity: The Future of Adult Education in Asia and the South-Pacific Region(1991-12) Tandon, RajeshItem Case Study on the Role of Adult Education in Community Involvement for Primary Health Care(1983-05) Tandon, RajeshItem Siera Leone Partners Project Report to The XIITH Adult Aducation Conference, Berlin, Germany 4th-5th May 2006(2006-05-04) Koroma, Peter OItem Entry for New Pergammon Encyclopedia of Adult Education: Social Movement Learning(0000) Hall, Budd L; Clover, Darlene E."Social movements are not merely social dramas; they are the social action from where new knowledge including worldviews, ideologies, religions, and scientific theories originate" (Eyerman and Jamison, 1991, p 14). Social movement learning is: a) learning by persons who are part of any social movement; and b) learning by persons outside of a social movement as a result of the actions taken or simply by the existence of social movements. Learning by persons who are part of a social movement may occur in an informal way because of the stimulation and requirements of participation in a movement.
